Bed Elevation Reduces Nighttime Acid Indigestion
Elevating Your Bed with Blocks or Books
Placing books or blocks under your headboard, in order to raise the head of your set of bedding will damage your bed and lead to a sag in the middle of the mattress. If this insufficient support is discovered by a third party mattress inspector researching a warranty claim, it will void the manufacturer’s warranty. Check any major manufacturer’s warranty and you will find the same information.
An elegant solution to this situation is using a foam wedge between the mattress and the box spring. This will provide the elevation necessary to reduce or mitigate nighttime acid indigestion. It also allows you to sleep on the mattress that you selected for your level of comfort, you can sleep in any position that you are comfortable with and use the pillows that you love. If you Google “MediWedge”, or go to www.mediwedge.com, you will find a foam wedge that enables you to accomplish this.

Center Support
Adequate center supports in your bed frame or used in conjunction with bed rails are imperative to ensure proper support and are required with full, queen and king size mattress sets. On free standing bed frames, a center rail should have at least one leg in the center of the bed that touches the floor. On beds requiring the use of wood slats, a minimum of 3 heavy slats with a leg touching the floor on each are required. Beds and frames that do not have the proper center supports will bow or sag in the middle over time.
